From writer to editor, communications manager to events planner, freelancer to full-timer … I’m tough to categorize.

How it started

I read a Facebook post looking for new moms interested in writing about cars. I wrote up a quick review of my own daily driver and soon, I was hired as a family car reviewer. Just a few short months later, the site was sold to Cars.com and suddenly, I was a contributor to one of the biggest automotive sites on the web.

A few years later, I was hired as the Web and Communications Manager for the Motor Press Guild (MPG). I wrote, produced, and edited content for the guild’s website and promotional materials, oversaw membership, planned annual drive events, and created a few new brand identity pieces for programming. Most importantly, I built valuable working relationships with OEMs, fleet providers, vendors, and the automotive media.

Meeting and working with folks at the MPG opened the door to contribute at Autobytel.com, and eventually, I became the Managing Editor. I loved writing and editing articles for the site, but I especially enjoyed the opportunity to manage a stellar team of freelancers.

In 2019, I made the decision to “jump the fence” and see what was on the other side in the marketing and events world. At Overstreet Events I was privileged to assist manufacturers like Jaguar Land Rover with all of their media event planning needs (until Covid-19 took away all our fun).

How it’s going

Today at Edmunds, I get to manage the production of all of our special content - from Custom content we create for OEMs to the monthly reviews and videos we make for CarMax. I get to write news coverage and project manage the Edmunds Top Rated Awards, too! As the Creative Services Project Manager, I get to do a little bit of everything I love - which makes me very happy.
